There were numerous home burglaries in the area east of Campbellsport. Guns, jewelry and money were taken. This occurred during the afternoon hours. Some residences were unlocked. Doors were kicked in when found locked.

Please remember to lock your doors when you are not at home. Do not leave your doors unlocked while you run errands during the day. It may deter someone if you leave a radio turned on to a "talk station" or leave the TV on. Any sounds of people talking may indicate that someone is in the house and keep someone from attempting to enter.

If you see anything suspicious in your neighborhood or in the vicinity, call 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY. An officer will be dispatched. If you can do so safely, write down any vehicle description, license plate numbers and descriptions of person or persons you observe.

Last year, a number of inflatable decorations were vandalized. If you are using these decorations this year, the Police Department suggests that you turn them off when retiring for the night or when you are not at home to observe them. This could help deter damage.
Please pass this along to your neighbors.
