Due to State of Wisconsin, Department of Revenue policy NO IMMEDIATE IN PERSON REFUNDS will be given for payments in excess of full real estate taxes due, under S. 66.0607 Wis. Statutes.

MORTGAGE ESCROW CHECK PROCEDURE
The Village will instead mail a check for the difference to the property owner 7 to 10 working days after receipt of full payment.  To receive a refund sooner contact your financial institution and arrange for them to re-issue your escrow funds in two separate checks; one payable to the TREASURER of the VILLAGE of CAMPBELLSPORT for the EXACT amount DUE IN FULL and the other payable to you for any excess amount.

VILLAGE OFFICE HOURS  are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM   Monday - Friday for payments.  The OFFICE will be CLOSED Monday, Dec. 24 & Tuesday Dec.25 as well as Monday, Dec. 31 & Tuesday, Jan. 1.  We do have a LOCKED DROP BOX located by the Poplar St. entrance for AFTER HOURS PAYMENTS.  All mail dated December 31, 2007 or before will also be accepted as payment for 2007.  **When paying by mail or in the drop box, include a SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE if a receipt is desired.

BREAKDOWN OF TAX DOLLARS:
The gross tax (Total Rate Assessment) is made up of five different agencies of which the village is a portion. The Village is mandated by law to collect tax on behalf of the other four agencies that cannot issue their own tax bill.

The Public Hearing for the 2007 Budget was held on November 20, 2006 at 6:00 P.M. at the Campbellsport Council Room.  The budget was approved by the Board of Trustees at the meeting immediately following.

The rate assessment for 2006 was $8.007420 and the  2007 rate assessment will be $7.984402 for a percentage decrease of .002875% or a decrease of $.023018 per $1000.

Village taxes account for roughly a third of your total property tax bill.  Local School, County, Vocational School and State taxes make up the balance.  The combined Mill Rate information for 2007 with a comparison to 2006 figures is available here.
